John Cusack from Glencanane registered at Lack School in 1968. A member of a very distinguished academic family, John Cusack merits special mention as probably the only past pupil from Lack School to be awarded a master’s degree by an American university.
He was educated at Lack School, Ballynacally School, St John Bosco’s School, Cahercon and Fordham University, USA, one of America’s premier Jesuit universities. There, he was awarded a master’s degree in Business Administration, specialising in international business with the emphasis on emerging markets like China.
Having worked in accounting in Ennis for 5 years, he spent 2 years in Australia and has been in the USA since 1989. In the USA, his career in banking has developed. He now holds the position of a vice president of Allied Irish Banks, leading a team responsible for the bank’s business in the 5 states of New England.
